We have struck off the month of March with our celebration of Humanities Week, prepared by all with much excitement. The first activity consisted in decorating a large tree with poems written on fig leaves of all colours. We ended up with a colourful “Poem Tree,” which now adorns our administration building’s main hall.
Once again this year, the creative talent of students and staff alike shone through in our Third Annual Short Story Contest.
From the smallest on up, our students have taken part in various activities: handmade bookmarks, the “millennium chest,” backwards stories, “Al-Andalus,” “On Vargas Llosa’s Trail,” “We are Illustrators,” “We know our towns and their surroundings,” and so on.
Last but not least, we all became “secret friends,” which has come to be a ValdeSerra tradition. Each and all of us received a surprise gift: a book!
