The pupils of 2 º cycle of primary Education went to the Route of the Velez last March 28th.

We walked up the mountain to “the cave of Letreros”, where we discovered treated paintings from 8.000 years ago from the Neolithic (The wizard, the indalo, The Sun, The Moon and Zebra…) They used iron dioxide for painting those decorations.

Then, we visited the castle of the Marquesses of the Velez, where they explained to us the history and its structure.

We visited “the fountain of the 5 Caños”, where It was believed that the people who drank water from it could live forever.

Later we had a rest while we had our lunch at The Interpretation Centre of Water, “The Argarchon”.

They taught us about the origin of the water and the different ways of watering the fields.

Finally, we walked along the village of the Moorish quarter until we arrived to “The Convent of San Luis “where we enjoyed and learnt the life and functions of the convent.
